He graduated from Sheridan College with an Advanced Diploma in Visual and Creative Arts, and moved on to Special Effects: Make-up, Props and Prosthetics. When it comes to special effects, Jonathan specializes in wounds (burns, bruises, cuts, etc...) as well as creating detailed sculptures of characters/creatures. Jonathan spends most of his time as a freelance SFX make-up artist, and is developing his own graphic novel (Elements).

With the intent on creating a comic, Jonathan proceeded in developing a collection of concept art, visualizing dozens of characters, locations and props. First using pencil crayons and markers, he eventually shifted to digital media, working with Photoshop, Painter, ZBrush, and other art programs.

From an early age, Jonathan wanted to become a palaeontologist. After watching Jurassic Park, for the second time in theatres, he decided there was nothing he wanted more than to excavate dinosaur fossils. However, the art-bug bit him when he attended his first fine arts class.
